The marriage mentoring program at Bethany is here to help strengthen relationships for couples who need just a little help, as well as couples who are in great crisis and have no hope.

In the busyness of life, marriages often suffer from a lack of attention that can lead to apathy and discontent.  Marriage mentoring can help couples who are seeking healthy, growing marriages to navigate issues in communication, parenting, finances, etc.

how it works

Couples seeking to be mentored are matched with a mentor couple.  Mentors have been trained in the "Dare to be Different" marriage mentoring process and have a strong commitment to healthy marriage as well as the desire to help others strengthen their marriage.

Mentors will help couples identify key areas of concern using an online diagnostic survey.  They will then help to carefully navigate through issues identified by the survey.  Most couples meet with their mentors for up to 10 weeks.  Weekly sessions last around an hour and a half and typically occur in the mentor's home.

See the video below from Emerson Eggerichs, the founder of Love and Respect, for more information about the "Dare to be Different" mentoring process and what makes it successful.

WHAT IS MARRIAGE MENTORING?  Marriage mentoring is when a couple experienced in marriage comes alongside another couple to help enrich their relationship.

WHAT MARRIAGE MENTORING IS NOT  It is not another teaching curriculum, nor is it a replacement for clinical or pastoral counseling. Couples with serious issues may need professional marriage counseling.  If you are questioning whether mentoring or counseling is for you, please contact us.

DO WE HAVE TO ATTEND CHURCH AT BETHANY TO BE MENTORED?  No, you don't need to have any connection to Bethany to participate in our marriage mentoring program.

WHAT ABOUT CONFIDENTIALITY?  All issues discussed with a mentor couple are held in confidence.

IS THERE A FEE FOR MARRIAGE MENTORING?  Yes, there is a $50 fee per couple, which covers the cost of materials used in the mentoring process.
