Children’s Ministry
Mission
The purpose of Bethany’s Children’s Ministry is to equip children from infants to sixth grade to grow in Christian maturity through Bible lessons, activities, and interactive learning.
What We Offer
Nursery: Bethany will provide security and loving care for infants and toddlers ages six weeks to two-and-a-half years of age while giving parents undistracted time to worship God and study His word during the Sunday School hour and Worship service.
Sunday School: Children ages two-and-a-half to sixth grade learn Bible stories through crafts, hands-on activities, and story time that promotes their relationship with Christ.
Preschool and Pre-K: During the Worship hour, children ages two-and-a-half through Kindergarten participate in hands-on activities that builds on the Bible lesson taught during the Sunday School hour.
J.A.M. (Jesus And Me) Children’s Church: Children in grades 1-4 learn Bible stories, make crafts, and sing songs in the Fellowship Hall during the Worship service.
Camp: Bethany collaborates with area churches and participates in a week-long camp each summer. Junior Camp is available for children in grades 3-5 and Jr High Camp is designed for youth in grades 6-8.
Ensuring Safety
All children’s workers go through a screening process and must meet specific criteria before being allowed to volunteer in children’s ministry. In addition to attending a yearly child protection training, workers must complete an authorized background check performed by the IL Department of Human Services. Children may only be dropped off and picked up by their parent or adult caring for them.
