Ministries

We are passionate about serving and ministering to others, and we do so through a variety of different ministries. Scroll down to see some of the ministries we offer!

Children's Ministry

WHAT WE OFFER

Nursery:  Bethany will provide security and loving care for infants and toddlers ages six weeks to two-and-a-half years of age, while giving parents undisturbed time to worship God and study His Word during Worship Service.

Preschool and Pre-K:  During Worship Services, children ages two-and-a-half through pre-K participate in hands-on activities, games, and crafts, all centered around a Bible story.

J.A.M. (Jesus And Me):  Children in kindergarten through 5th grade learn Bible stories, make crafts, and sing songs in the J.A.M. Room during Worship Service.

ENSURING SAFETY

All children’s workers go through a screening process and must meet specific criteria before being allowed to volunteer in Children’s Ministry.  In addition to completing Child Protection Training every two years, workers must complete authorized background checks performed by the Illinois Children and Family Services and the Iowa Department of Human Services.  Children may only be dropped off and picked up by their parent or the adult caring for them.

Marriage mentoring is for couples who need just a little help, as well as couples who are in great crisis and have no hope.

Marriage mentors will help you identify key areas of concerns using an online couple's diagnostic survey. They will carefully help you navigate through issues derived from the survey. The weekly sessions will last up to 10 weeks and are approximately 1.5 hours long. Mentoring most often occurs in the home of the mentors.

* Please fill out an application by clicking on the MENTOR REQUEST FORM button and download the application. Fill out the form and send it back to the church administrator overseeing marriage mentoring.

* The mentoring fee is $50, which will cover the price of the materials. You can bring that payment into the church administrator when you bring in your Mentor Request Form, and checks can be made out to Bethany Baptist Church.

4:12 Student Ministry

4:12 Student Ministry, consisting of students 6th-12th grade, is inspired and rooted in Scripture where it says in 1 Timothy 4:12, “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.” We believe at Bethany that every single student matters to God, they are uniquely designed with purpose, and are an essential part of the church here and now!

Mission Statement: A community of students who are transformed by the power of the gospel and equipped to reach their generation.

Vision Statement: Building Community. Growing in Christ.

4:12 Core Values

· Modeling Christ: in all spheres, showing people what Christ is like
(among friends, family, @ school, church, on social media etc.)

· Student Leadership: leading in ministry teams, leading bible studies etc.

· Mentoring: adults to students to students

· Grounded in the Word and in Prayer

Our mission, vision, and core values shape everything we do: teaching, small group discussion, games, events etc.
